Raise a glass and let’s talk about beer.

Welcome to the first Casual Friday open thread of June! This is where we take a break from Seattle Seahawks talk and veer off-topic with the rest of the Field Gulls community.

Last week’s movie recommendations was a smash hit! We had over 130 comments discussing films to watch. Let’s keep the good times rolling with some beer recommendations.

I’ll lead this with an anecdote: When I was in Eugene a couple of weeks ago for the Prefontaine Classic, I chatted with a French track and field fan who’s based in the Bay Area as a tech worker. He was amazed at how much cheaper IPAs are in Oregon than in San Francisco. Of course, a hell of a lot is cheaper just about everywhere than San Francisco, but the point remains is he had some local IPA (don’t ask me the brand) that cost $10 a can. And that was at a street fair. Similar IPAs he says often cost $17 in SF. Are there any IPA fans out there and can you attest to cost in your area?

Anyway, back to the main theme. I reckon most of you drink (and drink responsibly!). What are your favorite beers and breweries? For a little bit of Seahawks talk in this off-topic open thread: What are your beers of choice on a Seahawks gameday?
